Business Continuity Planning (BCP)

SGH Security Services works with businesses in preparing contingency plans, using our team of experts, we look at all potential risks that potentially face a business and its productivity.

A Business continuity plan, could also be called a Disaster Recovery Plan.

Clients are provided with a Business Continuity Plan report, enabling them establish necessary alternative back-up plans should any natural or otherwise disasters occur.  These plans are used in conjunction with staff to ensure the highest level of safety is maintained at all times.

With the Natural Disasters which have occured in Australia recently, e.g. Black Saturday fires 2009, Floods in Qld and Victoria, BCP's can assist clients in recovering from such disaster a little quicker.

For example during Bush Fires the electricity in the area can be knocked out for several hours or days, therefore a BCP could ensure a premises has a back up generator, too allow for the premises to continue trading therefore ensuring Business continues with limited disruption, and therefore the providing a service to the community.

Some case scenarios BCP’s are used in are:

  1. Arson on building premises,
  2. Machinery break downs
  3. A break out of Flu or other illness through out the workplace
  4. Floods or Bush fires
  5. Supplier can not supply business required equipment/supplies
  6. IT Problems - computer crashes- possible lost Data

When producing Business Continuity Plan report the following steps are taken:

  1. Review / identify the risk to the Business
  2. Plan to minimise the risk to the Business
  3. Plan to eliminate the risk to the Business.
